01/07/2010 - 12:51Hey Rich and Lisa,I am sure you do not remember me.My friend Bill Clausen and I first met you guys at the "depot" in park city back in the 1990/1991 ski season. We were both lift operators at the resort when we went into the depot for some beers and saw you. From that point on we tried to catch you as many times as we could.I bought your cd,JUST MIGHT MAKE IT,before the season was over and swore I would be back the following year for more good music and skiing.Things happened and I never did make it back the next year allthough my friend Bill did.Well as time went by,through many moves,my cd collection got put in the background.Anyway,I now live in phoenix,az.and just took a road trip to flagstaff and thought what better cd to break out than yours. For the first time in ten years I listened to your music and realized it is every bit as good today as it was twenty years ago.So it got me wondering what ever happened to you and did you achieve your dream of becoming a major recording force. When I got home I did some searching on the internet and found this website.I was not shocked at all,but very pleased to see that you did indeed "MAKE IT".I am glad that you still live in park city, one of the best cities in the country,i will make it back up there to see you play sometime, until then best of wishes to you Lisa and your two boys. Oh,if you ever play in the phoenix area please let me know.

25/06/2010 - 19:26Hey Richard, Ian & Owen !
What a special time you guys must have together in Ireland. Memories to last a lifetime, enjoy the moments, life, music, a wonderful country that feels like home.
Hope to see you all (with Lisa) soon !
And that also counts for Amber, Gerdien, Miriam, Anita,....by the way...when does that contest for the Wymanettes start? I sure know some very serious talent for that job!
All the best & see you all soon.
"...it's the journey & the moment, that makes your life worthwhile
it's the journey & the moment, make sure you do it in your own style
no room for outside pressure, it's your own measure that really matters
and don't forget to embrace the
future with a smile
it is that state of mind that makes the long run really worth the while "
You know the song ?
Think hard !

03/05/2010 - 21:05I am working the night shift at the hospital. They have blocked Pandora so I was searching for other ways to listen to music. I have one of your songs from your first album stuck in my head because I was listening to it on the way to work. My friends and I first heard you in a driving snow storm at the Park City street festival many years ago and at PoP Jenks before it burned down. That's where I bought your first CD. I remember taking care of a friend of yours in the hospital where I worked in SLC.
The years have passed and I live in Montana now, but have never heard any more of your music and didn't know what ever happened with your career. Imagine my delight to google you and find that your career has taken you so far! I am very excited to know there is more of your music out there as I have played my one CD to death. Kalispellwould be a great place for you to give a concert! Best regards to you and your family.

30/08/2009 - 20:26Hi Rich,
I saw you playing upstairs at the art gallery in Park City a couple of nights ago. (Well, heard you from the street first, then was of course drawn in.) You are phenomenal. I could have watched and listened for hours - but had to leave with the folks. Seriously, rarely seen artistry like that - and what a selection of sounds. Hope to be back in Park City next summer - will definitely look for you. (By the way, fellow native South Floridian here, now in New York City....)
Best,
Rob

21/07/2009 - 14:49If you're still looking for Rich Wyman cd's, don't hesitate to email me. Check the Dutch room for the cd's and singles and the details.
The albums "Where we stand" & "Live from the heart" are no longer available. Fortunately we still got enough of them left in the shop where I work in Assen (Warenhuis Vanderveen).
As you can see we also give away cd-singles along with the albums.
Questions ? Just email me, no problem. Just like Wilfred & Inge , I know Rich for almost 10 years (In August....yes I was a "slow" starter)
I also promised some people a live recording of a show from last year. It's been quite hectic for me personally but I have not forgotten about it. Be patient , I will keep my promise !
All the best and looking forward to new music of the Man !

15/07/2009 - 21:53Dear Rich,
Today its exactly 10 years ago that we heard your music for the first time. Cant believe its been that long ago!! Although, many things have changed since then. Wilfred and I got married, we got two wonderful daughters, Ive had three different jobs, we moved to another house. But theres one thing that stayed the same: our love for your music!! Since 10th of July 1999 (Bospop festival Weert) I cant imagine a life without it. Rich, I want to thank you for these 10 wonderful years of music and love, and I hope there will be at least... (at least!!!!) 10 more of these years.
Lots of love and a big hug.
Wilfred en Inge <wilfred.inge@kpnmail.nl>

08/07/2009 - 15:19Great to learn you are back home and that, in the round, your tour in Ireland was so positive!
It would be hard to image you have played many gigs smaller than Burncourt/Ballygobackwards (through the Rural Arts). Those that did come along left the rest of the rural community in no doubt they had missed a very special night! Thanks a million Rich and Ballygobackwards will be out to see you when you next visit our soggy wee bog! Best regards Anne in Tipperary

09/05/2009 - 21:27Hi Rich, after a high blood pressure that made me
weak on my knees gave me at last the oppertunity to do things I always wanted to do. First my website, at last I have my 3 favourite artist on it again .. at last. Now I am putting everything in books so I can review my photos over and over again .. and then after seeing your dvd Embrace it made me realise how much we as family miss you. Maybe we should meet again, wheter in Ireland, USA or Holland .... my time with Anouk is becoming to an end because I finally want to close this chapter in my life.
Next year their will be a book out of her and then I stop with following her career. Their are some more artist I want to portrait again and one of them is you...
love you with all my heart... and our beautifull is pregnant .. so there will be a new chapter in our lives.
Thanks for writing. I am doing well, thanks. How are you? I remember talking to you at your school and I am glad you were inspired. That's what matters. I always enjoyed coming to your school. I listened to you music and I like it. You're the bass player, right? Keep up the good work and stick together. I am not going to critique your music, you know your sound and what you want, I hope. I mean, we all have room for improvement, myself included. If we are not always trying to improve then what's the point in continuing, right?
Cheers,
Rich

20/01/2009 - 09:13A BRAND NEW SONG FOR A BRAND NEW YEAR!
LOTS OF LOVE, RICH
On January 20, 2009 we put the right man (in the right place)
at the right time.
Weve got a brand new president Barak Obama
Weve got a brand new president Barak Obama
You can see it in his eyes you can see it in his smile
(its a smile a mile wide)
(In case you didnt know it change is coming,
in case you didnt feel it change is here)
From the mountains of Nepal, to the city of New York
From every town/city hall, to the local grocery stores
Africa South America North America AustraliaEurope and Asia even in Antarctica
Chorus
Change is here, and its a brand new year
Change is here, and its a brand new year
Something is happening here, and this time it is perfectly clear
Something's going on Change is coming on
And the only thing we have to fear is fear itself
The only thing we have to fear is fear itself
Weve got a brand new president Barak Obama
From FDR JFK to the Dali Lama
Jesus Christ Abraham and Mohammad
Weve got a brand new president Barak Obama
Chorus
Change is here, and its a brand new year
Change is here and it's a brand new year
Has there ever been so much anticipation?
Can he live up to al those expectations?
Hes just one man, I know hell do what he can
Were all in this together, Every woman and man
Youve got to look at the children
Hope is where we begin and here is where it ends
A change in lifestyles and the way we live
Thats not something to be afraid of, its just how well live.
As part of the world not dominating and fighting
By caring for the world with love that is lighting
And by sharing the world not taking all it offers
And by living simply that so can all others
Change is here we cannot go back
I see only a future no more white and black
What makes us different is a beautiful thing
Celebrate, life, love, and sing
Chorus
Change is here, and its a brand new year
Change is here and it's a brand new year
What are you waiting for Change is here
What are you hoping for Its a brand new year
What are you praying for Change is here
What are you living for Its a brand new year
What are you dying for Change is here
What are you asking for Its a brand new year
What are you wishing for Change is here
What are you fighting for Its a brand new year
What are you searching for Change is here
What are you reaching for Its a brand new year
What are you drinking for Change is here
What are you yearning for Its a brand new year
What are you marching for Change is here
What are you running for Its a brand new year
What are you sleeping for Change is here
What are you looking for Its a brand new year
What are you working for Change is here
What are you breathing for Its a brand new year
What are you sitting for Change is here
What are you writing for Its a brand new year
What are you singing for Change is here
What are you here for Its a brand new year
What are you swimming for Change is here
What are you playing for Its a brand new year
What are you speaking for Change is here
What are you giving for Its a brand new year
What are you painting for Change is here
What are you striving for Its a brand new year
What are you loving for Change is here
What are you crying for Its a brand new year
What are you happy for Change is here
What are you texting for Its a brand new year
Chorus
Change is here, and its a brand new year
Change is here and it's a brand new year

So, is it possible that you send me some sheet music or maybe chords? I would like to play your music, especially my favourite song, "Fatherless Child"!

23/11/2008 - 21:58There's a great Wyman party going on on youtube!
We had an amazing time in Clonmel, and your music was a very big part of it for us! You really touched my heart, especially with "Guantanamo". You are a big inspiration for all of us!
What a great feeling this all must be for you! To get so much response to your song Guantanamo and know and feel that your message does reach the people!
Great to read that your tour to Ireland had been such a great succes!
I am in Ireland on a cold and rainy day but finishing up my tour very well. I must tell you Guantanamo has been extremely well received here. I got to teach a two classes at The Ballyfermot Music School in Dublin on Thursday. At one I talked about the song and played it live for them. They loved my performance, telling me that even though it was a small class they had never seen anyone play with so much passion. The next class was bigger but no piano so we brouight in a TV and DVD player. I talked about various aspects of my carreer, the music business, fielded a few questions, and finally discussed activism in music and we played the DVD. They were moved very much and all the students approached me at the end of class to shake my hand and tell me thier feelings.
Guanatanamo is requested repetedly at my shows.
I went to the Amnesty International offices in Dublin and had a meeting with there. They will look at the DVD and get back to me next week. Ireland is at the forefront of the detainee issue due to the fact that rendition flights have been landing at Shannon Airport, even though the Irish Government has condemned torture, rendition, and Guantanamo. There are many protests here and an investigation is open into the use of Shannon for rendition. The song lives on because there will always be people taken and tortured, unfortunately.
Tonight is my final show for this tour, a bittersweet moment in time. I look forward to playing at Gleeson's here in Clonmel. The poeple are wonderful, many LATE nights, and lots of good music and conversations.
Take care and be well.
Lots of peace, love and happiness,
Rich

01/11/2008 - 15:11Hey Rich,
Two weeks ago I didn't know your music. Just bought the cd "Live from the heart". I was amazed! I had never heard this before! ALL songs were great!
I also heard the song "A hundred years away". A very beautiful song!
Thank you very much for this great music!

27/10/2008 - 20:44Dear Rich,
How are you at the moment? Did you have a save flight back home? It was really great to see you in Harderwijk! I was planning to come an earlier concert, but had the flu. So I was really glad i recovered in time! It is so great to hear you speak about the things that matters in a way I think about it as well. Your message is clear and serious, but you bring this message with beautiful music, passion and humor and that makes it easier to understand
I have a question:
We spoke about your new love-song 'amazing'. I told you that my wedding is at April 3th and that I would like to sing your beautiful song for my 'husband'. You told me I have to send you an email, so that you can send me the MP3-file. Is it possible to send me some chords as well? I'm playing guitar but I'm not that good that i can make my own chords... (so don't be afraid I will run with the song... i'm in a lot of ways not Hollands next Idol, haha!)
Just want to thank you for the two great shows in Deest and Deventer.
I forgot to tell you how much I love the new stuff!! Especially 'amazing' is gonna be one of my new favourites.
Big Hug,
Have a nice time in Ireland
Greetings,
Inge

20/10/2008 - 20:22Hi Rich,
I woke up this morning with the tune of "Where I'm going" and I still can't get it out of my head. Thanks for the wonderfull shows, great new songs and short nights. Have a save flight home and a nice homecoming. Enjoy Ireland and be nice to any piano. We will get ours tuned again;) No keys broken, just out of tune. Indeed a year looks like an enternity and a lot can happen in one year, but it's also something to look forward to. See you next year for sure. Good luck on all your music adventures also with Lisa.
Thank you for three wonderfull shows! Last night was great! A wonderfull place to be and hear you sing so many great songs. I really think you should record Amazing too! But the other new songs are also really good!
Have a save flight home and a good time with your family and then a wonderfull time in Dublin too.
It was awsome!
LOL,
Marianne

19/10/2008 - 22:33Yesterday's show was a great one. We sure enjoyed ourselves again. Good to see Inge and Wilfred again. I even spoke to Remco who I hadn't seen for a while. Great place for a liveshow, good food, good company, good crowd and great music !!
Off course, the extra musical flavour the Wymanettes added was irresistable...maybe you should invite them next time..on stage Rich ?!
You rocked the place again Rich. Next year maybe on the beach, next to this place ? (The girls in their summer clothes...great Springsteen song).
For those who miss out some cd's or dvd from Rich, send me an email (gj4music@planet.nl). The shop I work for has all Rich's cd's except for the 1st one "Just might make it".

I just wanted to thank you for sitting in with us this past weekend. It was an honor for all of us to share the stage with you. You have gained even more of our respect by showing your true musical talent and adaptability to what ever we threw at you - as well as helping to make a bunch of amateur musicians sound better. Thanks again Rich - would love to do it again
Only two more weeks to go and then you'll be back in "big city" Assen! We're counting the days!
Have a save flight and see you soon!

02/09/2008 - 06:24HI EVERYONE,
I HOPE YOU ARE WELL.
SPETEMBER IS HERE AND IN PARK CITY IT IS STARTING TO ALREADY FEEL LIKE WINTER. SUMMERS ARE SHORT HERE IN THE MOUNTAINS.
I HAVE A FEW GIGS THIS WEEK: WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT SNOWBIRD IN THE AERIE LOUNGE AND THURSDAY NIGHT AT GURU'S 45 E Center St, Provo, a new spot for me.
THIS MONTH I WILL BE RECORDING MORE AND PERFORMING LESS. NEXT MONTH I WILL GO TO EUROPE FOR A FIVE WEEK TOUR. THE DATES IN ENGLAND HAVE BEEN CANCELLED BUT HOLLAND AND IRELAND ARE ON!!!
I HAVE FINALLY PUT THE LYRICS TO MUSIC I ASKED YOU TO WRITE BACK AT THE 2004 U.S. PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. (THE TIME IS RIGHT.) I APOLOGIZE FOR TAKING SO LONG BUT IT WAS REALLY HARD TAKING DISPARATE WORDS AND MAKING THEM ALL FIT. IT TOOK MANY ATTEMPTS AND I FINALLY FELT LIKE I GOT IT A FEW MONTHS AGO AND NOW THAT THE 2008 ELECTIONS ARE HERE AND I AM TOURING I HOPE YOU WILL LIKE WHAT I HAVE DONE WITH IT ALL.
I AM VERY PSYCHED TO SEE YOU ALL AND PLAY FOR YOU.
LOTS OF LOVE,
RICH

10/07/2008 - 20:07Rich,
It's been more than a few years since we all hung out at Snowbird's Spa Cafe and the Aerie (1992-1994). Good to see you and Lisa are still together after all these years. We have great memories of you playing at the Aerie after we closed shop in the cafe. You've come along way since we played "Just might make it" (on cassette!) for the pool/hot tub/cafe guests. Whenever we hear "weird man's march" it makes us a bit nostalgic for the ski bum'n days. Glad to see you are succeeding...it's well deserved! We hope to catch you in Park City sometime over the next few weeks. It's entirely possible will catch you in Ireland as well. We are moving back to the UK at the end of the month. Hope to see you soon.

This link is to a wonderful slide show of the peace rally in Salt Lake City on Wednesday.
RICH
30/05/2008 - 16:58HI STEVE & EVERYONE ELSE TOO!
George W. is in Park City today. I am performing at the SLC rally today AT 5:30pm (at The City COunty Building) with former SLC mayor Rocky Anderson and Daniel Elsberg (author of The Pentagon Papers). I am also performing at the Park City event I am organizing later tonight. The event BUSH BASH BAR-B-Q starts at 6:00 and I iwll be there as soon as I get up from SLC probably around 7:00pm. They are closing the schools early today so Bush's helicopters can land in the parking lots. We are planning a protest at the end of my street around 2 or 3:00 when he lands and makes the drive up to Mitt Romney's house in Deer Valley for a $70,000.00 a couple dinner to raise money for John McCain. Makes you wonder who pays for this trip if he's raising money for the Republican party than there is no way we as tax payers should have to pay for this trip.
LOTS OF LOVE TO YOU ALL,
RICH

01/05/2008 - 11:18Hi Rich,
It's been a long time ago since we've met in Nijmegen (2001? 2002? I guess). I'm a friend of Claus Burgers (and Ellen etc.) and we met once in the Pizza Restaurant Pinocchio in Nijmegen together with your friend Richard who I know as well. You visited Holland at that time with your wife (her name was Lisa I guess?) who was performing together with you at The Tempelier. I've been looking at you side what your plans are concerning visiting Holland again but couldn't find anything. Can you tell me some more about that? I still listen to your cd's and look forward to visiting your concert in Holland.
Best regards en lots of fun in Ireland this month!

24/03/2008 - 00:31Hello my friends... I have something to share........ Recently I wrote a song called Guantanamo after reading an article in Democracy Now: Court: Gitmo Detainees Do Not Meet Definition of Person and in Rolling Stone about an Arab-Canadian boy who grew up with a militant father and spent time in Pakistan. He was almost killed on the battlefield in Afghanistan and sent to Guantanamo Bay to Gitmo where he was tortured in a myriad of ways. He was 15 at the time.
More recently, George Bush vetoed a bill that would have made torture illegal. He say it is OK to torture people in certain circumstances.
So my friend and director Erik Hutchins and I produced a music video to this song.
Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBAt1jenS4U
If the video does not appear though the link, type in key word Guantanamo Music Video at youtube.
Hope you like it.
Lots of love, peace, and happiness,
Rich
GUANTANAMO
words & music by Rich Wyman
I am not a man
I am not a face
You don't know who I am
But you keep me in this place
The whole world can see
The Empire has no clothes
The land of the free
Will forever be known
Not as the land of the free
but as the land
Of Guantanamo
I was just a boy
A obedient son I did what I was told
To die in the fight
And let god take my soul
How far we've come
How far we've gone
Together we fall
Together we'll go
Into hell with us all
Hell's here and now
In Guantanamo
In your silence you agree
That it's okay to torture me
Today it's me tomorrow it's you
You are my Nazi I am your Jew
Will you speak out when they come for your friends
Will you speak out when they come for your foes
Who will speak out when they come for you
And as the list of the enemies grows
You're already here you just don't know
In Guantanamo

I had to check out your site after reconnecting with Nancy and hearing about your knowing Marc Barson and Richard Turner (my boss)!! How weird...
Your music is as wonderful as I remember and I have forwarded this site to numerous friends. I hear that you have a wife and babies - so do I (well, the babies, not the wife) and its a joy with them everyday. Say hi to Tony for me if you ever get the chance. I'm sure we'll talk at some point - Nancy and I spoke about getting a PA reunion together - that would be something, huh?!

26/11/2007 - 21:18Hi Rich,
Long time i thought I couldn't make it to come to Cafe Doxs to see you play because of a birthday in the family. This was also the day that my sister had planned to tell the family that she was pregnant. But things changed, so I could make it to see you play. But what had to be a great evening, turned into a dissapointment. The way you were playing was great. Great songs and everything. But I cant find words to say how cold your reaction was about my appearance yesterday.
During the break I was planning to ask you if you want to play the So what with the If you
don't know by now version. You played the song, which was very nice, but the only thing you answer me was that you already had a setlist, and was not planning to change it for a request. To me that was a very unpleasant moment,
because you just walked on to the stage without saying anything (even after the show. I am sure that you didn't mean it so bad (I think I cought you at the the wrong moment), but I really feel the need to share it with you. I wish you a good flight home, and I will see you next year.
Greetings from holland,

19/10/2007 - 19:16Hi everybody, just found out that Rich Wyman made it to youtube.com Check it out !
Rich we're glad you're gonna rock our country again with live music. Love the song "Colors",one of the best songs of the year(check out "Devil's arcade" by Bruce Springsteen and the best Dylan cover I ever heard by Jimmy Lafave "Not dark yet")
Full excitement am I waiting for the tourdates for November. Am trying to check your site daily, as well as occasionally checking the website of DDA agency.
But strangly, they keel changing the dates that you will be here (here=NL). First, it was 22-29 November, than 22Nov-3Dec and now 15-24Nov. Weird. Off course, explenation is that your bookings are uncertain and things need to be confirmed etd. But for me, it gets confusing. And above all, it's really testing my patience, which I don't have.
So... can you already say something about November?? Really want to see you, but I must be able to arrange some things in case your gigs are far away from my hometown.
Am really looking forward to seeing you again. Hope waiting won't take long anymore.
Oh and btw: congrats on your new single and new album! More waiting and patience for me, but well.. I'll survive.
Oh and more new: Ilse deLange (you toured with her years ago) is releasing a new (live) album here in NL in October, maybe something to consider if you have time for some shopping?
Keep up the good work and see you hopefully in November!
Jeannette <spoky5@hotmail.com>
10/10/2007 - 11:49Richard,

04/10/2007 - 04:55I'm sitting behind my pc laughing, because we did talk about this indeed and I felt the need to react on your quote also. I openend your message Board and what is the first thing I see? A reaction from Trinette! If that isn't telepathic...
It's indeed a good one...one to remember and life by...

03/10/2007 - 23:59Hi Rich,

24/06/2007 - 13:14Hoi muziekliefhebbers. Dagelijks ontvang ik mailtjes met een bestelling voor "Embrace" maar ook vragen over hoe en wat.
"Embrace" kost 20,99 inclusief verzendkosten. Een mooie prijs voor een live dvd met cd. Bestellen is heel eenvoudig. Mail me je naam & adres.
Groeten Gert Jan

23/05/2007 - 14:02HI,
I have arrived alive and well and sleepy. I slept on the plane but it will still take a day to get over the jetlag.
DDA Agency have a wonderful new house. The old band house is gone and they now live in a house in a small town. It is a very cute and quiet small village. I stay here for two nights. Thursday I hit the road and stay travelling for the rest of my trip.
Lots of peace, love, and happiness,

07/05/2007 - 09:23Hi Rich.
We met each other at the Music Festival in Cologne some years ago, at the Kppers Klsch Brewery Open Air. You were performing great and sweating like hell. So I placed a "Klsch" beer on your grand piano frame and you answered into your mic:
"Somebody noticed I'm thursty".
After that we spoke several times shortly after concerts of yours in the Netherlands.
Once I asked you how you do the slide over the keys up and down in one time, and you explained it swiftly in two sentences, I went home and I could do it. I can still do it thanks to your advice.
Thank you very much.
But here's something else why I'm writing now.
I am a musician myself, and I had several times of bad luck with my health and tendonses in the past. But last but not least after three attempts I am finally doing my final exam at the Rotterdam Conservatorium Codarts (Univevrsity of Arts and Music) on the 4th of June. I will be playing one of your songs that night, because I really love your music and because I want one real Rock'n'Roll song to be in my final exam.
I don't expect it to be better than the original but my piano professor said that he and his collegue professors would be really glad to welcome you that night to be a special external member of the comission to judge my concert.
According to your gig list your in the Netherlands about the time of June 4th anyway. So if you feel to accept the invitation of my professors, please contact me.
I would feel most honored to welcome you that night for sure.
www.codarts.nl
Greetings and thanks for your music anyway,
Martin Martin Kesseler <info@martinkesseler.nl>

Too bad! I'm returning from our vacation sunday 27th so I won't make it to Harlingen then! Or else I would have to cancel the whole vacation because due to a certain reason (you're aware of) i'm already returning one day earlier than planned...But, fortunately there are more opportunities to hear and see you play. So I (and maybe johan too) will come to another place to see and hear you play.
See you soon!

18/04/2007 - 16:07In addition to Marianne, I am missing some gigs in the more western part of our small country.
Although my guess is that these are all the dates you have to offer, I hope that more places will follow.
I would love to see you again, but at the moment, this is not possible. The closest gig is in Nijmegen and driving 1.5 hours for a concert on a weekday is too much.
I hope more dates will follow or that otherwise, the next time you're in our country, you'll do the other half of The Netherlands (north and west).
Jeannette
17/04/2007 - 09:52Hi Rich,
Great to read that there are more dates confirmed. But I miss a gig in the northern part of the Netherlands. Is there any space left for that or is your scedule full yet? It would be so awsome to have you over here in "het noorden" so we're able to visit your tour without the long drive...
See you soon!
LOL Marianne

04/10/2006 - 07:17Hi Rich, great to read you are alright! In your newsletter I read a sort of new spirit, doing all these great things. I think it's the best, teaching children music! I've had a great music teacher and he tought me everything about enjoying music, and really listen to it, not only hear it. So important! I know the difference between music I like and music I think is good (but not like). Do you understand what I mean?
Hopefully you wil be back in the Netherlands again soon, so we can enjoy music which is good and I also like very much! :-)
All the best,

13/09/2006 - 07:27Today I watched a program called "Klasgenoten". It's about a group of people who where in the same class at school back in '86. Now, 20 years later the're back together again. Everyone talks about people they loved then or where friends with and what they do today. There was this one guy who gave everything up, quite his job, sold his house and joined Sea Sheapherd. This organisation isn't like Greenpeace, it's just like a piratship defending the inhabitants of the sea like the whales & the dolphins. I was really shocked when I saw how dolphins were slaughtered alive, left to bleed with hundreds at a time. A holocaust...All for consumption for Japan. I felt really ashamed to be a human....
Humans aren't the only species on the planet...we just act like it.
This T-shirt I've seen many many times on Rich's body. I hope your next album will have this as a theme. Wake people up.
Tuesday I will be working 20 years for the record shop. Great job. I really admire that guy who gave everything up to do the right thing. I wish I could do the same. Personally I try to teach my children with respect towards life & nature & mother earth.
Tomorrow is September 11th, already 5 years ago.
Do we have a saver planet or are we more tied up with prejudice towards the peoples of the planet.
I hope the truth will eventually come out to really open our eyes. The media have their own truth when will we learn about the real one ??
So keep your eyes open, open your mind for change and different cultures. We're all on this tiny, tiny speck in the universe. Let's treat it with respect.
Love for you all,
Gert Jan

On this July 4, we would do well to renounce nationalism and all its symbols: its flags, its pledges of allegiance, its anthems, its insistence in song that God must single out America to be blessed.
Is not nationalism -- that devotion to a flag, an anthem, a boundary so fierce it engenders mass murder -- one of the great evils of our time, along with racism, along with religious hatred?
These ways of thinking -- cultivated, nurtured, indoctrinated from childhood on -- have been useful to those in power, and deadly for those out of power.
National spirit can be benign in a country that is small and lacking both in military power and a hunger for expansion (Switzerland, Norway, Costa Rica and many more). But in a nation like ours -- huge, possessing thousands of weapons of mass destruction -- what might have been harmless pride becomes an arrogant nationalism dangerous to others and to ourselves.
Our citizenry has been brought up to see our nation as different from others, an exception in the world, uniquely moral, expanding into other lands in order to bring civilization, liberty, democracy.
That self-deception started early.
When the first English settlers moved into Indian land in Massachusetts Bay and were resisted, the violence escalated into war with the Pequot Indians. The killing of Indians was seen as approved by God, the taking of land as commanded by the Bible. The Puritans cited one of the Psalms, which says: "Ask of me, and I shall give thee, the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the Earth for thy possession."
When the English set fire to a Pequot village and massacred men, women and children, the Puritan theologian Cotton Mather said: "It was supposed that no less than 600 Pequot souls were brought down to hell that day."
On the eve of the Mexican War, an American journalist declared it our "Manifest Destiny to overspread the continent allotted by Providence." After the invasion of Mexico began, The New York Herald announced: "We believe it is a part of our destiny to civilize that beautiful country."
It was always supposedly for benign purposes that our country went to war.
We invaded Cuba in 1898 to liberate the Cubans, and went to war in the Philippines shortly after, as President McKinley put it, "to civilize and Christianize" the Filipino people.
As our armies were committing massacres in the Philippines (at least 600,000 Filipinos died in a few years of conflict), Elihu Root, our secretary of war, was saying: "The American soldier is different from all other soldiers of all other countries since the war began. He is the advance guard of liberty and justice, of law and order, and of peace and happiness."
We see in Iraq that our soldiers are not different. They have, perhaps against their better nature, killed thousands of Iraq civilians. And some soldiers have shown themselves capable of brutality, of torture.
Yet they are victims, too, of our government's lies.
How many times have we heard President Bush and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld tell the troops that if they die, if they return without arms or legs, or blinded, it is for "liberty," for "democracy"?
One of the effects of nationalist thinking is a loss of a sense of proportion. The killing of 2,300 people at Pearl Harbor becomes the justification for killing 240,000 in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The killing of 3,000 people on Sept. 11 becomes the justification for killing tens of thousands of people in Afghanistan and Iraq.
And nationalism is given a special virulence when it is said to be blessed by Providence. Today we have a president, invading two countries in four years, who announced on the campaign trail last year that God speaks through him.
We need to refute the idea that our nation is different from, morally superior to, the other imperial powers of world history.
We need to assert our allegiance to the human race, and not to any one nation.

21/06/2006 - 21:25Hi Rich and Family.....I miss PC, but love the lusciousness of the green mountains of Vermont. I play your CD's often and it stirs the happy memories of Cooke, Cisero's and Pop Jenks. I hope all is well with you and yours. I have been listening to the latest CD, again another superb one! 14/06/2006 - 01:56Hi Rich,
As you can read in the previous entries in this guestbook, there are many nice places where you can play your music. I would like to mention the good times in Cafe Wachter in Harlingen. I think it is a place where everything comes together. It is hard to explain, but I think that everybody who have seen you playing there, knows what I am talking about.
I really hope that you will play there once again in the future.
I saw (and heard from a friend who lives in the centre of Holland and has been to several shows) you were in Holland for a couple of shows... but why-o-why are you not playing in the western part of Holland? Just like a couple of years ago in Paradiso in Amsterdam?
Come to the coast! Come to our beaches! And in the evening you can play in Alkmaar, or Haarlem, or anywhere here. There are nice places where you can play! Really! For example: 'Atlantis' in Alkmaar, or the 'Waerdse Tempel' in Heerhugowaard, or the 'Patronaat'in Haarlem... Please?
I hope I see you again next year, I'm looking forward to it!
Love
Miek

09/05/2006 - 15:22Hi Everybody,
I hope you are all well. It has been over a week since my return home from The Netherlands (my second home).
First I would like to acknowledge all the people who made the April 2006 Tour in the Netherlands so great. All the people I work with and the fans and friends at the shows, Thank You!
The tour was really great. I felt at the top of my game and the audiences really were open to that. From the first sold out show at Backstage in Deventer to the final full show at Luxemborg in Harderwijk I was sharing my music and my message fully. As a musician I felt strong all the way through. I really got clear to the fact that the message in my music is clear and powerful. My new songs Shine, World of Peace, and Who You Are were so powerful in the way they connected between me and the audience; it renewed my faith in power of music. Songs like Fatherless Child, Brand New Factory, and Incredible Day all have strong powerful messages and I just have a clearer vision of my purpose as an artist. Its as if the connection between me and the audience is closer, clearer, and more powerful than ever before.
On my return to The U.S.A., I played at a Global Warming Film Festival in Salt Lake City. I played Brand New Factory solo on the grand piano to the sold out audience right before the showing. It was also very powerful, but its all about the passion and the message. And that is who I am.
Passion, Peace, Success, and lots of love,
RICH

04/05/2006 - 21:51Hi Rich!
I briefly chatted with you at the E2 launch. I just have to tell you that I absolutely love your cd!
Thank you for such a wonderful performance. It was absolutely amazing, moving and powerful.(as I already shared with you.)
After speaking with you, I went into listen to the forum and I was going to ask you to sign my cd. (You were sitting right near me.)
However, I saw you leave with your friend before I could "grab" you.
Are you going to be performing anywhere in the near future? If so, would you please sign my cd and perhaps be in a photo with me?
I have started an environmental group on MySpace... and I have shared the photos that I took at the E2 launch with the group and I could not stop raving about you!!
MySpace is not just for "meeting" people to date. It is also used for networking and making friends. There are a lot of musicians who have gained a lot of their fan base because of MySpace. You may want to check it out. MySpace.com. (And there is no charge to be a member and to have a "profile/page.")
I hope you are doing well and I hope you have a great day!
Again, thank you for the amazing performance!
So sorry I had to miss your performance last sunday, heard from Sue & Bart it was (again) a goosebump performance, I was sick in my bed, listening your music on CD, even how joyfull that is, it is nothing like hearing the real thing! So.... let's make a deal, I'll get better and you bring yourself and your talent to Oz somewhere this fall??
Love, Wendy

We had a great time yesterday in Schiedam.
Maybe next time when you come to Holland you can aks Branco to tour with you.
That's the band with Jacko Kreukniet, Marcel Singor and Ramon Rambeaux (I guess you already know that). Marcel & Jacko's backings match perfectly with your voice. I missed them a little at Total Music......... sorry.
Bye Petra Hope to see you in Hengelo one of these years.

23/04/2006 - 10:41Rich,
I would like to thank you for the two inspiring evenings. Every time I hear you play I feel the love and the energy. I totally believe in a world of peace as well. We need not take major actions, if we just break the chain of passing on jealousy, materialism and egoism I think we can achieve it.
Lots of love Arjen

18/04/2006 - 11:35What time does the concert in Harderwijk start next Sunday?
Anita <a.broekhuis@knsb.nl>
18/04/2006 - 10:50Hello everyone, We're glad that Rich is back in our country again. The show in Deventer was awesome, filled with passion and a crowd having a great time. I've taped the show on a mini-disc and will transfer it to cd soon. Check out Rich's three new songs (Who you are, Shine and World of peace) during the remaining concerts. World of peace has the echo of John Lennon in it.It's a spiritual song with a strong message. Great song. Shine is a lovesong with a strong positive vibe...put on your lighters. Who we are is bursting with energy, right in your face. It's all about where Rich is at, at the moment.
Here's the set-list opening for De Dijk last Saturday:
1.Lost souls
2.I saw an angel
3.Who we are
4.Fight song
5.Where we stand
6.Fatherless child
7.Romeo and Juliet
8.So what!
If you watch one of the shows coming up, write down the setlist for the website and support Marcel & Rich with this website!

16/03/2006 - 19:27I really would like to know when and where you are performing in Park City during the month of March. Could you please let me know. I am coming this Thursday thru Monday and would love to catch a show.
Nice to read that you are coming to Holland in April. But just like Gert Jan already said. Why dont play more in the north of Holland. The Wachter in Harlingen is a great place and the people there love your music aswell.
